From run clubs and matcha lattes to early bedtimes and alcohol-free nights, it’s clear something is shifting in the way we live — especially among younger generations. But is this just the latest trend, or are we finally embracing what’s genuinely good for us?

Turns out, Gen Z is the most health-conscious generation yet. They’re joining fitness clubs not just to work out but to socialise. Strava has reported huge growth in run clubs, and for many, fitness is now the new way to meet people — even date. “Run club is the new nightclub” might sound like a meme, but it’s kind of true.
At the same time, many are cutting back on alcohol, choosing mocktails or skipping drinks entirely. Nearly half of Gen Z adults didn’t drink alcohol at all in 2023. Add in a noticeable drop in daily coffee consumption, and suddenly things like matcha, acai bowls, Pilates, and sleep are becoming the new wellness markers.

There’s also a big shift toward balance over burnout. Instead of glorifying overworking, people are setting boundaries, leaving on time, and openly prioritising rest. It’s less about hustle and more about harmony.
So… is this just a trend?
Maybe. But it’s also a lifestyle shift many have been craving. It’s not about being perfect or living on green juice — it’s about being intentional. Making space to feel good, look good, and live well.
And one unexpected bonus of all this? Healthier skin and hair.
💧 Wellness + Beauty: What’s the Connection?
These daily habits — sleep, food, stress levels, hydration — have a massive effect on your hair and skin health. And here’s how:

🌿 Less Alcohol = More Glow
Alcohol dehydrates your skin and hair. Reducing it helps retain moisture, improves circulation, and keeps your complexion and scalp healthier. Many people who cut back notice brighter skin and shinier, less brittle hair.
💦 More Water = Better Hydration
It sounds basic, but drinking more water does wonders. It helps flush out toxins, keeps skin plump and clear, and supports scalp health — especially in dry winter months.
🥗 Whole Foods = Stronger Hair
Acai bowls, avocado toast, leafy greens — the nutrients in these foods (think vitamins A, C, E, omega-3s, and biotin) all support stronger, shinier hair and clearer skin. Beauty really does start from within.

🧘♀️ Less Stress = Healthier Everything
High stress contributes to hair thinning, breakouts, inflammation, and dullness. So when you prioritise mental wellbeing — with sleep, movement, or boundaries — your body thanks you for it. You’ll see the difference in the mirror, too.
😴 Sleep = Skin & Scalp Repair Time
Your body heals and regenerates while you sleep — including your skin and hair follicles. Better sleep = better growth, less breakage, and that fresh-faced “I got a full 8 hours” glow.
So What’s the Takeaway?
Whether you’re into matcha, mocktails, Pilates or none of the above — the real point is this:
more and more people are questioning the old ways of living, and choosing what feels genuinely good. And in doing so, they’re seeing the benefits not just emotionally or physically, but visibly too.
So yes — drinking more water, sleeping more, eating better, moving your body, and managing stress might be trending... but maybe that’s because it works.
It’s not about being a wellness guru. It’s about doing what works for you, and finding balance in the process.
And if better skin, stronger hair, and a happier mood are side effects? We’re not complaining.
