At Aboki Hairdressers, your satisfaction is our top priority.

We want you to leave our salon feeling 100% happy with your hair.

If, for any reason, you're not thrilled with the service we provided, we'd love the opportunity to make it right.

💬 Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your booking within 24 hours or less of your appointment, your deposit will be forfeited — unless the appointment is rescheduled before the 24-hour window. This helps us manage our team’s time and offer availability to clients on our waitlist.

Here's how our complimentary redo service works:

Contact us within one week of your original appointment by calling reception at (03) 546-8680 or emailing us at aboki.hair@xtra.co.nz.
You can choose to return to your original stylist or we can recommend another stylist for the redo.

Please note:

The redo policy applies to minor adjustments, not complete changes to the originally requested look. We keep detailed notes and (often) photos of consultations to ensure this.
Sometimes, achieving your desired look may require multiple appointments due to hair history or complexity. This wouldn't be considered a redo.
We cannot guarantee the outcome of a colour service where important information hasn't been disclosed to your stylist during your consultation. This includes past colour work/processes, use of particular shampoos known to affect the hair, etc. Full disclosure is essential for achieving the best results.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for services performed.
We can only guarantee the longevity of our colour services if you use our recommended salon products. Maintaining your colour is an investment, and we want to help you protect it!
If you've used box dyes, henna, direct dyes, or are transitioning from dark to light hair, achieving your desired colour may take more than one session. We'll let you know upfront if multiple appointments are necessary. If you're informed this will take time and don't achieve the full result in the first appointment, a redo wouldn't be applicable.
Changes to the requested service discussed during your consultation will incur an additional cost. Please discuss this with your stylist.

LATE ARRIVAL POLICY

We value your time and appreciate your promptness.

Arriving late can limit the amount of time available for your service. To ensure a complete and satisfying experience, we kindly ask that you arrive on time for your appointment. Please allow time for Traffic and parking. We are located beside Farmers in the Buxton Carpark in Nelson City.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise.

If you're running a bit behind, please call us as soon as possible to let us know.

We can accommodate slight delays (up to 10 minutes) whenever possible.

Your stylist will do their best to adjust the service or see if another stylist is available.

However, if you arrive more than 10 minutes late and no other stylist is available,

we may need to reschedule your appointment.

This ensures fairness for all clients and allows us to provide the best possible service.

CHILD SAFETY POLICY

While we adore children (many of us are parents ourselves!),

the salon environment can be a safety hazard for them.

Due to the use of hot tools, sharp objects, and chemicals, we kindly ask that children not receiving a service wait quietly in a designated area at the front of the salon for the safety of both the child and other guests.

This includes children in strollers, empty salon chairs, or on your lap.

We strive to provide a relaxing and enjoyable experience for all our clients.

Children are welcome to accompany you in the salon area only if they are receiving a service themselves.

For the safety and well-being of all,

children under 12 years old must be accompanied by their guardian throughout their service.

Guardians are not permitted to leave their child in the care of a stylist or other staff member.

Unfortunately, due to space limitations and insurance regulations, children under 12 cannot accompany you while you are receiving a service. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

FRINGE TRIM POLICY

We are happy to offer all our clients a complimentary fringe trim following their haircut appointment.

This one-time service is available within 5 weeks of your last haircut with us and is limited to a 5-minute appointment focused solely on shaping your fringe.

Walk-Ins Only:

Please note that complimentary fringe trims cannot be booked online.

We accept walk-ins only, based on stylist availability at the time of your arrival.

Booking a Specific Stylist:

If you prefer a specific stylist for your fringe trim, please call the salon to schedule an appointment.

We will try our best to accommodate your request, but availability may be limited during stylist color processing times.

Fringe trims with a specific stylist are charged at our regular price of $6.

Additional Information:

Due to the limited time slots for walk-in appointments, arriving early is recommended.

You may also consider calling ahead to check for potential wait times.

PRODUCT RETURNS POLICY

Please note that we cannot accept returns or exchanges on any opened or used hair care products.

This is due to hygiene and safety regulations.

However, we understand that choosing the right product can be tricky!

If you accidentally select the wrong unopened product, we are happy to swap it out for a different one.

Unsure about a product? To help you find the perfect fit for your hair, we offer consultations with our stylists. They can answer your questions and even provide small samples of certain products (subject to availability) so you can try them before you buy.

VOUCHER POLICY

Surprise someone special with the gift of pampering!

Aboki Hairdressers offers gift vouchers in any denomination, making them the ideal present for any occasion.

Treat Your Loved Ones To:

A variety of hairdressing services
Their favorite hair care products (unless otherwise specified)

Here's what to remember about our Gift Vouchers:

Validity: Vouchers are valid for 24 months from the date of issue.

Redemption:
- Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash.
- They are non-transferable.
- The original voucher must be presented at the time of service or purchase.

Responsibility: Aboki Hairdressers is not responsible for lost or stolen vouchers.
