Aboki is a Nelson owned and operated salon and was purchased by John and Melissa in January 1995. The name"Aboki" is named after a place in Africa, the previous owner named the salon in 1992.

We are privileged to have a dedicated staff and are continually striving for excellence in what we can do for you, our valued clients. This involves regular team training, off the job training, attendance at conferences both in New Zealand and over seas and monthly in-salon technical consultants. We pride ourselves in catering for a wide range of clientele, offering expert service and advice. We endeavor to be there when our clients need us, opening at 7am and working through to 8pm weekdays and all day Saturday with Sunday being family day. We all work as one team, our regular training evenings extend our skills within the industry, no one ever stops learning.

Hayley on Reception is the salon coordinator and manages the salon when John and Melissa aren’t on-site. Hayley has been with Aboki for over 5 years and shares this role with Aimee, our staff manager. Aimee organizes training for the team and has also been with Aboki for over 5 years.
